If you’re grinding Fortnite this week and want your time to actually pay off, you’re gonna want to check this out. There’s a new event called the Twitch Glitch Challenge, and it’s giving players a legit shot at Buff Points and even a PlayStation 5—just for doing a few in-game tasks.
The challenge is live from August 6 to August 22, and everything takes place inside a wild Fortnite map called The Glitch (Island Code: 9524‑2023‑3031). Think racing, city maps, emotes, and chaos.
Oh, and it’s all powered by Buff, so you know there’s loot involved.
So What’s the Glitch?
Nope, it’s not your Wi-Fi. “The Glitch” is a full-on custom Fortnite island with some insane visuals and glitchy mechanics. You’ll be racing through versions of Miami, New York, and San Francisco, trying to hit objectives like:
-
🚗 Driving 20 miles across the tracks
-
🏙️ Playing all 3 maps
-
⚡ Finishing a race with an average speed of at least 60mph
-
💃 Using an emote 5 times
It’s simple, fast, and super fun. And best of all? Buff tracks everything for you in the background.
How to Join the Challenge
All you need to get started is the Buff app (it’s free):
-
Download Buff for PC (it runs via Overwolf)
-
Log in and join the Twitch Glitch Challenge from the left menu
-
Buff will launch Fortnite and load the island automatically
-
Play the map, complete the 4 challenges
-
Get your rewards
💡 Just make sure notifications are turned on—turning them off means you’re out of the challenge.
The Loot: Buff Points & PS5? Yes Please.
Here’s what’s up for grabs:
-
The first 200 players to finish all four challenges score 2,000 Buff Points
-
Everyone else who completes them gets a raffle entry for a PlayStation 5
-
Only one raffle ticket per player
-
The raffle winner is announced within 48 hours after the event ends
And yes, Buff Points can actually buy cool stuff: Steam codes, Riot Points, Xbox credit, even gaming gear.
But Wait… What’s Buff?
If you don’t already know, Buff is basically the gamer loyalty app we’ve always needed. It runs quietly in the background while you play your favorite games—Fortnite, League, Valorant, Apex, CS:GO, and more—and rewards you with points for your in-game activity.
No grind, no paywall, no crypto nonsense. You just play, Buff tracks it, and your Buff Points pile up.
Eventually, you can trade those points for actual stuff: skins, hardware, game credits, and more. It’s like XP, but for your wallet.
And for this Twitch Glitch Challenge, Buff’s giving you a big head start on those rewards.
Why This Event Hits Different
Let’s be real: most in-game events give you a cosmetic or maybe a badge. But this one? You could walk away with real-world rewards, and it only takes about 30 minutes of fun chaos in Fortnite.
Plus, Buff doesn’t ask you to stream, sweat out wins, or hit some insane leaderboard. You just show up, finish the tasks, and claim your stuff. That’s it.
