The first Zombies DLC map for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 might take the fight off-planet. Recent social media leaks suggest a Season 1 post-launch map that moves Zombies into a space-based setting while keeping Ashes of the Damned as the centerpiece at launch.

Ashes of the Damned arrives at launch
When Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 launches on November 14 players should be able to jump into Ashes of the Damned right away. It is reportedly the largest round-based Zombies map in the series so far. Expect areas like Janus Towers Plaza Blackwater Lake and the Zarya Cosmodrome to be key battlegrounds.
Feedback from the October beta appears to have led to changes before release. The Zombies mode will feature a new user interface weapon adjustments and carryover access to some Black Ops 6 items. There is also a Cursed difficulty that unlocks after a player completes all quests in Ashes of the Damned. How long that will take is unknown.

Space station leak: Astra Malorum
Insider TheGhostOfHope on Twitter claims the first DLC map will be a space station called Astra Malorum. The leak describes it as an observatory sitting atop a skull with a red glow floating somewhere in space. Astra Malorum translates roughly to Stars of Evil in Latin which hints at the tone Treyarch might be aiming for.
TheGhostOfHope also says the Wonder Vehicle from Ashes of the Damned will take players to Astra Malorum and that the station will play a role in the ongoing Dark Aether storyline. The map is expected to arrive as part of Season 1 and is one of at least five DLC maps reportedly planned for Black Ops 7 Zombies.

What else to expect at launch
Outside Zombies multiplayer will include modes like Team Deathmatch and Control from day one. Nuketown 2025 is scheduled to drop on November 20 which is six days after the main launch. With Battlefield 6 as direct competition this fall it will be interesting to see what surprises Treyarch has stacked into the post-launch roadmap.
Some fans are already parsing trailers and imagery for clues about villains and plot hooks. Lines of chatter online have referenced things like the “white eye” villain tied to the bo7 zombies trailer white eye villain thread that has surfaced in several fan discussions.
Final thoughts
Leaks should be treated cautiously until Treyarch confirms details but the idea of a skull-themed observatory in space is a striking one. If Astra Malorum shows up in Season 1 it could extend the Dark Aether thread in a bold new direction while Ashes of the Damned sets the stage at launch.
