What’s the difference between Minecraft Java vs Bedrock editions?

Yo, I’ve been using Buff for a couple of different games, but wanted to start playing Minecraft as well. Saw that there are 2 versions of it, can anyone tell me what the differences between Java and Bedrock edition are?

Hey there! It’s awesome to hear you’re diving into Minecraft alongside your other games! Both the Java and Bedrock editions of Minecraft offer unique experiences, and I’m happy to help clarify the differences for you.

The Java Edition is traditionally played on PC and is known for its modding capabilities, which allow for a ton of customization and unique gameplay experiences. It also features updates and snapshots that are released to the community first, so you can try out new features ahead of time. However, it’s only playable on Windows, macOS, and Linux.

On the other hand, the Bedrock Edition is available on multiple platforms, including consoles and mobile devices, which means you can play with friends across different devices. It has a more streamlined performance and some exclusive features like cross-platform play and the Marketplace for skins and worlds. However, it offers limited modding compared to Java.

Regardless of which version you choose, don’t forget that you can earn Buff Points while playing Minecraft! Just make sure you have the Buff app running in the background. Happy gaming, and enjoy building your Minecraft adventures!
