Fortnite’s Garden Clone Proves There’s No Limit to Clicker Madness

The Rise of Grow a Garden

Right now, Grow a Garden is all the rage on Roblox, with servers melting and player counts skyrocketing. Although I’m intrigued, I haven’t mustered the courage to create a Roblox account. However, I did discover that there’s a clone of the game in Fortnite, called Go Garden. I decided to give it a try, and here’s what I found.

Gameplay and Mechanics

In Go Garden, you start with a few flower beds in a shared arena, along with a few other players. It’s similar to Fortnite’s Allotments, but with a gardening twist. You plant seeds that grow at varying speeds, harvest them, and sell them to buy more seeds. Oh, and you can do all this while cruising around on a motorbike. The game has some interesting wrinkles, such as different plant types and weather conditions that affect growth. Some plants, like tulips, produce a single item, while others, like strawberries, keep producing more. You can also buy sprinklers and other gadgets to speed up the process. And, of course, there’s a Piranha Plant knock-off that dispatches you on quests to grow specific plants.

The Clicker Conundrum

As I played Go Garden, I realized that it’s a clicker game – a type of game that’s both fascinating and terrifying. Clickers start small, but quickly escalate into a feedback loop of growing numbers and investments. It’s a bit like the thought experiment with a penny that doubles every day; before you know it, you’re absolutely minted.

Is Go Garden a Good Clicker?

In terms of art and design, Go Garden is a delight. The plants are colorful and well-rendered, and the timings are nicely worked out. I enjoy dashing back and forth to the store on my motorbike, and the portals that connect different areas are a nice touch. However, I’m not sure if I’ll stick around for the long haul. The game seems to be missing a certain je ne sais quoi that keeps me engaged. I mean, I’ve played other clickers, like Cookie Clicker, and I’m not sure if Go Garden can compete with those.

Conclusion

So, is Go Garden a good clicker? Yes and no. It’s a well-designed game with a lot of potential, but I’m not sure if it’s enough to keep me engaged. I’ll probably check out Grow a Garden on Roblox, and maybe even try out Fortnite itself.
