This year appears to be a fruitful one for Game Pass, particularly with Microsoft set to release a lineup of major first-party Xbox titles, including Doom: The Dark Ages and Fable, both scheduled for 2025. Additionally, a plethora of exciting games is on the horizon for the subscription service, many of which were unveiled during the recent ID@Xbox showcase on Monday.
The event served as a vibrant showcase of indie games, featuring a wealth of new trailers and release date announcements. Numerous intriguing titles will be available on Game Pass Ultimate and PC on their respective launch days in the upcoming weeks and months.
Here’s a rundown of the latest additions to this Netflix-style gaming library:
- 33 Immortals – March 18
- Descenders Next – April 9
- Blue Prince – April 10
- Tempopo – April 17
- Revenge of the Savage Planet – May 8
- Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault – TBD 2025
- Tanuki: Pon’s Summer – TBD 2025
- Ultimate Sheep Racoon – TBD
- Echo Weaver – TBD
Beyond the new Game Pass titles, the event revealed other notable updates. The much-anticipated poker roguelike, Balatro, is now available on Game Pass, along with the highly-rated multiplayer horror game, Buckshot Roulette, which will be added to the service once it is ported to Xbox.
In addition, new release timelines were shared. The 2.5D action-platformer Hotel Barcelona, a collaboration between renowned designers Suda51 and Swery, is slated for 2025. Meanwhile, Ratatan, a spiritual successor to Patapon, is set for release this year. In the near future, Tron: Catalyst, an isometric action game by Bithell Games, will launch on June 17, followed closely by Herdling, an atmospheric puzzle adventure from the team behind FAR: Lone Sails.
Looking further ahead, the stunning solarpunk road trip simulation game, Outbound, is expected to debut in 2026, coinciding with the arrival of the slice-of-life record store simulation, Wax Heads. Additionally, the visually captivating Woodo, a cozy diorama puzzle game, will launch on Xbox alongside its PC version.
Finally, the latest ID@Xbox event showcased two exciting premieres. The first was Rockbeasts, a narrative-driven music RPG centered on managing a band of aspiring ’90s rock star animals. The second announcement featured The Lonesome Guild, a party-based action RPG where players guide a group of quirky adventurers through a decaying world as a ghost.
However, the game that truly captured my attention during the showcase was Echo Weaver. This 2D “Metroidbrainia” title, first introduced in 2024, continues to impress with its intriguing concept. Players must uncover hidden secrets and manipulate time to escape a glitchy time loop. From the creators of the visually stunning puzzle adventure The Wild at Heart, it seems poised to deliver a unique gaming experience.
