The Battlefield 6 Season 1 trial has started, making a significant portion of this year’s biggest game free to play for a limited window. The free trial launched on November 25 at 4am PT and runs until December 2 at 4am PT, giving players a chance to test multiplayer action across platforms.

Why this matters
Battlefield 6 debuted on October 10 and is currently the best-selling game of 2025 in the United States. With Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 reportedly starting out weaker than its predecessor, DICE’s shooter has a realistic shot at holding on to that top spot through the end of the year. This first-ever Battlefield 6 free trial is a clear move to get more players into the fold.

How to access the free trial
The trial is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC. To get in, download the free battle royale title Battlefield RedSec. EA has temporarily expanded RedSec to include multiple Battlefield 6 playlists and maps for the Season 1 trial. Progress you make during the trial carries over to the full game. Players who already have RedSec will see Levels, Career Rank, Hardware Unlocks, and cosmetics carry into the trial experience.

What the Season 1 trial includes
The trial gives access to several multiplayer playlists: Close Quarters Battle, Initiation Breakthrough, and All-Out Warfare. Those playlists cover modes such as Breakthrough, Conquest, Team Deathmatch, and the limited-time, two-round Sabotage mode. Three maps are featured in this trial: Siege of Cairo, Eastwood, and Blackwell Fields. All trial progress and unlocks carry over into the full Battlefield 6 experience.
Freebies and extra content
Alongside the free-to-play week, Battlefield 6 is offering some limited-time cosmetics. Anyone logging in right now can claim the Lethal Force skin for the M2010 ESR Sniper Rifle. That weapon skin will be sent to the player inbox and is available until November 30. The Lethal Force Weapon Package can also be claimed from Battlefield RedSec and works across both titles.
PlayStation Plus members can also claim the Battlefield 6 Rogue Ops pack for free. Normally $19.99, the pack includes 11 cosmetics and launched as a PS Plus freebie on October 28. No official end date has been announced, so it is likely to remain available for the foreseeable future.
