Bongo Cat, a game currently ranked fourth in Steam's most played games, has a surprising secret: it doesn't generate significant revenue. Despite having around 150,000 daily concurrent players, its developer, Irox Games, says it's not profitable. The game's creator, Marcel Zurawka, made it as an experiment and a marketing tool for their upcoming game, Oku. With 50,000 wishlists and follows generated for Oku, Bongo Cat has become a successful, albeit unconventional, game 🐈💻.
