The Helldivers 2 review bomb cape has finally arrived, a year after the PSN account mandate controversy sparked outrage among players 🚀💥. The cape, named Pillars of Freedom, is a commemorative uniform piece that celebrates the community's response to the account-linking requirement that was announced in May 2024. The PSN account mandate was met with swift backlash, resulting in a dramatic drop in the game's Steam user score. Two days later, Sony backtracked, abandoning the requirement. The game's creative director, Johan Pilstedt, teased the review bomb cape on social media, and now it's finally available to all players on PlayStation and Windows PC 🎮. The cape features a design that depicts the game's Steam user review score graph, with long red lines representing the thousands of negative reviews. Arrowhead Game Studios shared the news on social media, stating that the item will be available in all Super Destroyer Armories once the rollout is complete 🔴. Although the controversy upset players and developers, the community ultimately got their happy ending – a free cape!
