Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 1, also called Pacific Break, drops you on the Golden Coast. The island draws clear inspiration from the U.S. West Coast and brings a new sandbox of POIs and items to learn and master.

New map and POIs
The Golden Coast replaces the old island. Some of the places you will recognize or at least get a familiar vibe from. Epic built spots like Battlewood Boulevard, Sandy Strip, and Classified Canyon as nods to real west coast landmarks. The map leans into coastal layouts and shoreline combat more than previous islands.
Weapons and loot pool
Chapter 7 Season 1 updates the weapon pool to include new items and tweaks to existing gear. The exact loadout you find will shift compared to prior chapters, so plan to adapt your combat style on the fly. Loot routes on the Golden Coast will likely shape which weapons feel dominant each match.

Gameplay and movement changes
The most obvious change arrives before the drop. Instead of the battle bus, players are surfing on a giant tsunami to get to the island. That means you no longer jump straight into the center of the map. You can surf along the wave to pick a landing spot on the coast. It changes early-game positioning and how squads approach rotations.
After you touch down, there are a number of gameplay adjustments to learn. Mobility around the island, new loot behavior, and the ways POIs connect will influence both solo and squad strategies. Take a few matches to feel out the flow before trying meta plays.
Why it matters
This chapter reshapes how you plan drops and rotations. Coastal POIs and the surf drop mechanic push players toward seaside engagements and more deliberate early movement. If you want to test new loadouts and find favorable drop points, the Golden Coast is a solid reset for that grind.
If you are on the hunt for a little extra incentive while you learn the map, consider stacking Buff Points on BUFF buff.game to reward yourself for those clutch finishes. Grind those points and make your sessions feel more worthwhile.
